Alpine Big X Premium wins Grand Prize in Car Accessory Award 2014
Alpine’s navigation system tailored to specific car models, BIG X Premium, won the Grand Prize—the top prize of the Car Accessory Award 2014, awarded by Nikkan Jidosha Shimbun.
The following features of BIG X Premium garnered high evaluation.
- ■ This 10-inch large screen navigation system is the world’s largest for aftermarket sales. Until now it was assumed that 9-inch or larger models could not be installed, but replacing the cluster panel of the original factory console realizes it.
- ■ Drivers can now enjoy map screen displays wider than those of past products, as well as dynamic, high-resolution TV or DVD images.
- ■ Its design, developed with scrupulous commitment to the “cool” factor, surpasses OEM products with their high degree of completion.
- ■ With its tailored design for the specific car models, it is available in eight separate models for four auto models: Alphard/Vellfire and Voxy/Noah. It was evaluated for its great impact and power that “surpasses all other car navigation systems.”
On top of that, the judges also praised its system expandability, including rear vision equipment, cameras, and so on. They also recognized Alpine’s efforts to provide enjoyable and pleasant car life for every customer’s car, centered on the car navigation system tailored to specific car models.
Car Accessory Award 2014 gives prizes to aftermarket products that have been released from July 2013 until June 2014. The Car Accessory Award 2014 Screening Committee, which prioritizes not only sales volume, but technical development strength of products, planning ability, ideas, and uniqueness, selected the Grand Prize winner based on the results of interview and questionnaire surveys of high volume auto product dealers.
Alpine also won the Grand Prize for Alpine Style in 2012.
