Dedication Ceremony for Taicang Alpine Electronics Co., Ltd.
Alpine Electronics, Inc. held a ceremony on Friday, Sept. 3 in Taicang City, Jiangsu Province, China for the dedication of our third production center in China - Taicang Alpine Electronics Co., Ltd.
In 1994 our company established Dandong Alpine Electronics, Inc. in Dandong City, Liaoning Province. This company is now primarily producing completed aftermarket products for the global market. In the same year we also established Dalian Alpine Electronics Co., Ltd. in Dalian City, Liaoning Province. This company contains an integrated production system covering all stages from parts machining to mechanisms and completed products, and is producing completed parts for aftermarket use and for automobile manufacturers.
Taicang Alpine Electronics Co., Ltd. will be expanded as a production center for products that are sold to Chinese automobile manufacturers, a market which is expected to grow in the future. By means of an integrated production system covering all stages from parts machining to mechanisms and completed products, this production center is intended to strengthen both quality and price competitiveness. There are a large number of parts manufacturers in the Shanghai area in particular, and we are proceeding with a change to local procurement and direct delivery. Currently the staff at this company numbers approximately 400, however we plan to increase this number to approximately 1,500 in 2006, and to increase the yearly production of mechanisms to 2.5 million units and the production of completed products to 1.3 million units.
The dedication ceremony for the new facility was attended by approximately 230 guests, including top members of the Jiangsu province and Taicang city governments, top management of Chinese and overseas automobile manufacturers, and guests from dealers and parts manufacturers. On behalf of the guests at the ceremony, Cheng Huming, a member of the Taicang city communist party committee, expressed his gratitude for our company's work in Taicang, and spoke of his expectations of the production center and of Alpine.
Alpine's President and CEO Seizo Ishiguro delivered a message outlining the following goals for the new development center.
- Achieve a global No. 1 "new level of quality" and contribute to raising the customer satisfaction of automobile manufacturers and end users.
- Change to 100% local procurement of parts and materials, and 100% direct delivery in order to achieve the No. 1 lowest costs worldwide.
