Rear vision navigation corner, a hit with families

Japan’s major custom car show, Tokyo Auto Salon 2009, was held in Makuhari Messe from January 9 to 11, 2009. Nearly 230,000 visitors witnessed and were part of an exciting atmosphere throughout the site during the three-day event.

In various sections of the Alpine Booth, visitors were treated to displays of Alpine’s premier products. In addition to the stage where the smart fortwo cabrio mhd demo car equipped with our made for iPodR system was displayed, the spotlight was shared also by our TOPVIEWR Camera, rear vision navigation system, and High Quality Sound, among others. The demonstration of the TOPVIEWR multi-camera, currently under development and designed to display the view from directly above an automobile on an in-car monitor, attracted the interest of numerous visitors, many of whom were heard to remark that they definitely wanted to install one in their car.

Inside the booth, visitors were able to see three demonstration cars, the Alphard, the Vellfire, and the Odyssey, each equipped with the X077 Rear Vision Navigation system, a system featuring a flip-down monitor. Our rear seat entertainment systems which include educational games for children and are connectable to the X077 were praised highly in particular by many families having children.
