In North America, the Portable Navigation Device (PND) market is growing rapidly. Alpine has introduced the Blackbird to propose a system for docking an AV head unit. Docking with the IVA-W205 sharply improves its functions: playing powerful sound, automobile positioning precision improved by an externally installed GPS antenna, and easy operating by using pulse touch. In honor of its highly evaluated superior convenience and expandability, it won the Best of Innovations Award for 2007. As price competition with other makers intensifies, Alpine aims to differentiate its products to firmly establish its brand position.
