Development of Mobile Media Station X07

Alpine commercialized Mobile Media Station X07 after thoroughly analyzing market needs for navigation systems and by integrating three elements -- safety and ecology, navigation innovation, and digital lifestyle at a higher dimension. This product embraces advanced functions not seen before in conventional vehicles and Alpine’s message of a sustainable mobility society, which, in turn, embraces environmental friendliness and harmony. Development of Mobile Media Station X07 is introduced here as a specific example of Alpine’s process of creating visionary value by mobile media.

Toward Drive Assist Fulfillment

The X07 is the first commercial product from Alpine’s new AVNC+D domain that targets business expansion by introducing the Drive Assist function. This strategic model is the first original Alpine product in 13 years, through the efforts of all divisions, including Development, Manufacturing, and Marketing in a companywide challenge toward commercialization. From kickoff in November 2004, development involves about 300 people.
In the planning of the X07, not only AVN which had already become a matter of course but also C(Communication) and D(Drive Assist) were focused on in our efforts to seek added value none of our competitors had achieved.
Development staff in Japan and China collaborated to invent new functions, including Drive Assist, at a price accepted by the market. Working toward mass production, the Engineering and Manufacturing Divisions cooperatively established a new production line, targeting improved efficiency. As a result, the X07 was launched in November 2006, making a strong impact on the market as the first Drive Assist support product.
