Considering Alpine's diversity through biodiversity

To further understand the importance of biodiversity, Alpine holds events to observe the natural ecosystem found near the Alpine Headquarters.
The Family Nature Expedition was held at the Alpine Iwaki Headquarters. This volunteer event was held to introduce children to their local environment.
About 20 different species were observed in fallen leaves, holes in wood, the pond, and stream. People were surprised where living things may be found. The children were very satisfied and “definitely want to do it again”.

In November 2011, an event was held to observe the wild salmon return. As you probably know, salmon return to the place of their birth to spawn. Viewing this miracle of nature with one's own eyes reinforces the power of life and the desire to preserve it. This awe-inspiring natural occurrence reminds us of the cycles and delicate balance of our natural surroundings, and the importance of corporations in preserving this environment.

2011 was designated as the international biodiversity year. There is a great amount of advocacy for the preservation of biodiversity. Biodiversity is the immune system that maintains our ecosystem through all environmental changes all over the earth. Preservation is coexistence and the mutual acceptance of each other, using the minimum required without waste.
Alpine values both the diversity of living organisms and corporate diversity. Globally, differences in cultures, value systems, customs and races all interconnect. This diversity leads to a broad range of thinking and new ideas, and is our immune system for changes in the business environment.
Alpine will continue to preserve the diversity of our customers, suppliers, stock holders, investors and local communities, overcome business environment change and offer a fruitful tomorrow.

Recognition of Ecology

In November 2010, Alpine joined the "Iwaki Recycle Fair 2010" hosted by Iwaki city. Alpine-staffed booths provided lectures on how to assemble solar cars using empty plastic bottles. It was not only a perfect opportunity for children to expand their intlectual curiosities, but also to familiarize themselves with natural sources of energy. Participants learned the importance of recycling, while Alpine employees reinforced environmental sustainability.

Cleaning Up Beaches

Cleaning Up Beaches Alpine initiates plenty of activities for sustainable environment. On Sep. 2011, Alpine employees cleaned up the beaches near the Head Office. This popular activity allows families to learn about the importance of nature and strengthens our bond with the local community. This year, a total of 214 people participated, including employees, their families and network of friends.

n Mexico, ALCOM won the Second Prize in the 14th national energy saving award among mid-size production facilities initiated by FIDE (Energy Saving Initiative Fund). Various factors are analyzed for this award, including production variance from previous year and annual electricity consumption. In 2009, ALCOM promoted energy saving activities such as an employee awareness campaign, installing roof insulation, and replacing old machinery with new high-efficiency models. etc.
We achieved a 22% energy savings compared to previous year.

Environmental recognition through tree planting

China’fs environmental problem is an issue of concern. Hence, the government has put the Forest Guard Law into effect to conserve local forests. At our Chinese affiliate, employees learn the importance of forest guard through tree planting activities. We ecourage employees to love nature and care for the environment.

Environmental Education in Mexico

To teach children about the natural environment and recycling, a local environmental group called The Young Environmentalists of Reynosa were invited to an eco-education fair. As they enjoyed playing games, children learned about the importance of the environment for the future of mankind.
