Kanaan Scores Repeat Victory at Milwaukee
in Team 7-Eleven Car

ABC Supply/AJ Foyt Indy 225

Finish: 1 st  Points(Position): 201(4)

WEST ALLIS, Wis. (June 3, 2007)
Team 7-Eleven driver Tony Kanaan collected his ninth career IndyCar Series victory and the 10th open-wheel racing victory of his career at Sunday's running of the ABC Supply Co./A.J. Foyt 225 at The Milwaukee Mile. The win moved him to fourth in the IndyCar Series championship, only 20 points behind the leader and his AGR teammate Dario Franchitti.

For the first 90 laps of the race, Kanaan ran in the top three. However, needing fuel, Kanaan was forced to make a short fuel pit stop while the pit area was closed during yellow-flag conditions. Because of the stop, Kanaan was shuffled to the back of the lead-lap cars. Before the race would go green again, Kanaan had to make two additional pit stops because there was inadequate fuel in the race car.

From that point forward, Kanaan picked his way through the field, eventually finding himself in second place. With a little more than 30 laps remaining, Helio Castroneves, the race leader, found the wall after the rear wing malfunctioned on his car and Kanaan moved into the lead. Kanaan went unchallenged over the final 30 laps to record the victory.

Kanaan now stands tied for fourth in all-time IndyCar Series victories with Scott Sharp. Teammate Dario Franchitti finished second and was followed across the line by Dan Wheldon.

The IndyCar Series returns to action this Saturday, June 9, for the Bombardier Learjet 550 from Texas Motor Speedway.

Tony Kanaan

"The Team 7-Eleven car was the best car all weekend. My boys gave me a great car and we didn't give up all day. We had to work hard to get to the front but it paid off. This was a great '1-2' finish again. Dario (Franchitti) is leading the championship but I'm going to do my best to catch him. This will be an exciting summer for sure."

Eric Cowdin, Race Engineer

"I don't know how great Tony's car was today but it wasn't as great as the driver. Tony is just awesome around here. Every track we go to he is going to be a contender and that's how it will be for the rest of the season. It is going to be the same guys competing for the win every weekend so we just have to minimize mistakes. We had some problems today but everybody pulled together and this was a great win."
