Alpine Electronics, Inc.

Alpine sponsors Indy Racing League team.

Alpine is proud to sponsor the Andretti Green Racing Team, one of the most prominent and successful teams in the U.S.-based Indy Racing League (IRL).
The Alpine sponsored car is for the No. 27 entry vehicle, driven by Dario Franchitti.

The IRL is a hugely popular racing organization, and includes among its events the legendary Indianapolis 500 – perhaps the oldest and most-storied contest in world racing history.
The race is run on an oval track and the cars reach speeds of up to 370 km/hour, providing one of racing's most exciting and thrilling events.

The Andretti Green Racing Team is the largest in the IRL, and includes owner Michael Andretti – a famed driver in his own right – as well as a talented driving team featuring Tony Kanaan, Bryan Herta, and Dan Wheldon, who captured the Rookie of the Year award last year.

Dario Franchitti has been active in the CART series since 1997 and has posted a total of ten victories over the last six years. Unfortunately, he has had to sit out the last half of the year due to an injury, but has been preparing hard and should be back in strong form. We're especially looking forward to his start in the Twin Link Motegi event, scheduled for April 17 this year. This is the third race in the Indy Japan 300 Mile series, and is held in Tochigi, Japan – the home of Honda, which co-sponsors the vehicle and provides its engine.
